An analysis of a structural plastic product that needed to be assembled
by the consumer was completed. The design review provided suggestions
on how to improve the product before the final tooling was completed. In
many cases by wearing an "analyst hat" can provide
timely suggestions to the design process. An analytical contact analysis
was completed and delivered to the client for the axle bearing loads, plastic
wheel contact loads for a number exceptional loading cases in the design.
A novel analysis method was applied to estimate the rolling loads
for rolling over carpeted floors and over low thresholds in office and home
applications.
